Creative Careers
An internally managed event to showcase the creative career opportunities available to young people interested in developing a career in the arts. In partnership with Lancaster University and other HE institutions, the event hosts a creative marketplace, practical workshops and careers talks.
Creative Marketplace
As part of the event, HE institutions, cultural organisations and local arts-based community groups are invited to set up a stall within the creative marketplace. Here young people can find out about what local and regional opportunities there are within their chosen artistic field.
Practical Workshops
Before the event, young people will have a choice over what workshops they would prefer to take part in. Within the workshops they will then learn more about their chosen art form and where it could lead them in the future. Workshops include; digital, visual art, dance and theatre +.
Networking
Taking part in the EXPO will provide an opportunity for young people to talk and share learning/ insights with their peers and other professionals and get out of their comfort zone by interacting with new people; and developing core networking and communication skills.
Careers Talk
Towards the end of the event, the young people will be invited to take part in an interactive career talk. Using active industry professionals and specialists, the young people will get the chance to ask questions and learn more about the different types of career pathways, within the creative industries.

Creative Careers EXPO 2022
In partnership with Lancaster and Morecambe College, the second Co-op Creative Careers EXPO was held on Tuesday the 8th of March 2022.
Consisting of workshops and a careers marketplace, participating organisations included; Lancaster University, Cumbria University, the University of Bolton, Edge Hill University, UCLan, Liverpool Hope University, Manchester Metropolitan University, More Music, Lancaster City Council, E2M, Good Things Collective, The Dukes Theatre, Ludus Dance, Prop Up Project, and Kendal College.
The workshops included Architecture & Design with Lancaster University and LMC, Scratch Orchestra with More Music and LMC, Visual Storytelling with Cumbria University, Special Effects for Film & TV with the University of Bolton, and Game Design with the University of Bolton.
Participating schools included Central Lancaster High School, Our Lady’s Catholic College, Bay Leadership Academy and Ripley.
92 young people took part in the event, with feedback being overwhelmingly positive.
