The New

The New Radicals is a highly focused group of young people with a passion and desire to create cultural and creative shifts within their community. As this is a new scheme, we are currently accepting responses from young people to join the first cohort.

Between January and March 2022, we will be supporting group members to develop a creative project around something they are passionate about, e.g., a short advocacy film, an arts project for the local community, or a creative project promoting social and/or environmental change.

This opportunity is available to young people aged 11-19 (and up to 25 with a disability) living within the Lancaster & Morecambe area.

The programme is set to launch in December 2021. Apply now!

We are eager to promote a safe space for young people of all backgrounds, inclusive of race, gender, sexuality, class, disability etc. during this project.

Are you creatively driven or sparked by creativity? In such a complex world, art can incite change and aid expression. A “language without words” which everyone is qualified to speak in.

Is there some sort of project you’ve been wanting to create? A transformative footprint you’ve been wanting to embed in our world? We have the resources to make it happen.

What is it’s purpose?

To develop skills in producing, curating, managing, advocating and making art and create a brand new RADICAL arts project between now and March 2022.

What are the commitments?

To meet once a week on a Friday for 2 hours from 5-7pm. Be open and willing to learn new things and be persistent in the pursuit for change and transformation within your community.

What will I need?

Nothing, just yourself. Email Zia if you have any questions:

The first session will take place on Monday 13th December, 6-8pm at the Cornerstone, Lancaster, LA1 1PX.
